Location:
Grevenmacher is a small picturesque town located in the east of Luxembourg, directly on the banks of the Moselle and immediately near the German border. Nicknamed the 'Moselle metropolis', the city is particularly appreciated for its pleasant living environment, vineyards, walks along the Moselle, and its lively city center.

Grevenmacher has good commercial infrastructure and many local services. The pedestrian zone hosts various shops, restaurants, and cafés. There are also several supermarkets and shopping centers, making it easy to meet daily needs.

The city also offers a particularly diverse cultural and leisure scene. The 'Kulturhuef' houses the Luxembourg Museum of Printing and Playing Cards and a cinema. The famous 'Päiperleksgaart', Grevenmacher's butterfly garden, is a popular attraction for families. The outdoor pool, playgrounds, tennis courts, and walks along the Moselle complete the leisure options.

The Moselle and the surrounding vineyards also offer many opportunities for walking or cycling. A 2.3 km historical and cultural walk allows visitors to discover the remains of ancient fortifications as well as the city's historical heritage.

Finally, Grevenmacher benefits from its strategic location in the border region. Wasserbillig, Mertert, Remich, and Mondorf-les-Bains are easily accessible, while the German border is only a few minutes away. The proximity to the Moselle also allows quick access to nearby wine-producing villages such as Echen, Machtum, or Wormeldange.

Mobility:
Grevenmacher has a central bus station offering many public transport links to Luxembourg City, Mondorf-les-Bains, Wasserbillig, Echternach, and surrounding communities.

Some of these lines directly serve schools, including the Maacher Lycée in Grevenmacher and several high schools in Luxembourg City.

The municipality also has its own shuttle service, the CityBus (Ruffbus), which allows booking to Wasserbillig, Wasserbillig station, Mertert, and several neighboring municipalities. The service operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The Wasserbillig railway station is the closest station for access to the CFL network. It is very close to Grevenmacher and allows travel to Luxembourg City and Trier. Wasserbillig is also an important connection point between the Moselle valley and the Sûre valley.

Schools:
Grevenmacher offers a complete educational provision for families.

Primary education is provided at the Maacher Schoul, located on Rue de l’École. The municipality also has facilities for children and a regional music school.

For secondary education, the Maacher Lycée is directly located in Grevenmacher, providing a particularly convenient solution for families with older children.

The city is also well connected to regional schools. Several school lines connect Grevenmacher to Wasserbillig, Echternach, Junglinster, Mondorf, Remich, and various municipalities in the east and southeast of the country.

Thanks to lines E05 and D03, several high schools in Luxembourg City are also accessible directly or with limited transfers.
